Self-Directed Support Strategic Work
Strategy Implementation Group
A Self-directed Support National Implementation Group was established in November 2010 to guide the delivery of the National Strategy. The group has representation from local authorities, support and provider organisations and from support users.
The remit of the group is to:
- to help make all the strategy's recommendations happen
- to advise on and plan the way forward
- to agree priorities and when they will happen
- to find out how the strategy is making a difference.

Implementation Subgroup on Support
A subgroup has been focussing on the provision of support for SDS users. It has been looking at ways of growing the capacity of independent support in order to meet the expected increase in people choosing to direct their own support.
